Directions for driving from Alghero Airport to Villa Baratz
(Please note: Although things tend to change slowly in Sardinia, these views may not always stay quite the same!)
We will explain which option to use for key collection/return prior to the start of your holiday.
Follow signs for airport exit (Uscita) in a one-way system. At the exit roundabout, head towards T-junction with several bill-boards, including “McDonalds,” facing you.
At T-junction turn left towards “Porto Torres” & “Sassari”
After a few hundred metres carry straight on towards SS291 (Don’t turn right towards “Porto Torres” & “Sassari”)
Stay on this road (skirting the airport perimeter fence) for about 4 km. On the way you will pass the Agriturismo (see "Out & About") Sa Mandra (highly recommended for a special evening out) & Go Kart track on the right.
After about 4 km from Airport, at T-junction, turn left towards “Fertilia”
After about 2½ km go straight over the traffic lights at Santa Maria la Palma, towards “Capo Caccia”
About 2km after the lights turn right towards “Palmadula” & “Lago Baratz” (& “Villassunta” )
You are now on the SP 69, which runs straight for 4 km
Key collection/return - Option 1 - Signora Rosa Monti (Sardinian)
About 2 km along this SP 69 on the right, 2nd driveway past the sign to Lago Baratz and the house PAST the one with blue gates and a lion on top of each gate pillar, collect keys from Rosa.
Rosa's house has a palm tree to the right of the gate (Sound horn/ring bell if closed!)
OR - Key collection/return - Option 2 - Brian & Sonia (English)
About 4 km along this SP 69 the first bend is to the left. Just after this bend, on the left, is a turning down a track.
Brian & Sonia's house (No. 89) is first on the left, past the post boxes.
You're almost at Villa Baratz now. Continue along the SP 69. Just past the turning to Brian & Sonia's there's a small side road off to the right (just after “SP 69 – 7 km” marker on the left).
Take this right turn (Sign “Traversa Bacchileddu)
Just round the corner & you are there!
